Looking back 60 years of my life I can see lots of ups and downs, struggles and hardships, some great and funny moments, some achievements and felicitations, some recognition and applauses. Many occasions specially in the hard times, when I face difficulty in solving the crises and felt some hindrances on the path of achievements, someone comes and extends their hand to help or ease the tensions I face. I would call those persons angels in my life.
I always wanted to thank them from my bottom of the heart and wished these angels are always be with me but later I realized these are the angels send to me for specific purpose and fulfilling their assigned job by almighty. Thank you, universe, and almighty for being so kind to me on various occasions when I stood puzzled.
I will try to write some incidents where angels presence is felt and seen in my life. I am sure that every individual has similar experiences. Hoe you will the stories which I will be narrating in a very simple language and non-edited.
Challenge accepted but miserably failed..
Childhood is always special and has naughty stories to reminisce.
I was 9 years old and was in 4th standard. The school I was studying was a primary one and had classes up to 7th standard. Around 25 students were there in my class and I and was the monitor of the class. The major responsibilities of the class monitor was to see the discipline in the class when the teacher is absent and noting down the name of students who are talking and making troubles. It is for sure that the punishment will be given to the students whose name are on the black board by the teacher. The punishments may be making students stand on the bench or outside class room, writing impositions and the major punishment would be calling he parents.
Whoever got the punishment ought to be the enemy of monitor and I made few enemies in the class.
During the lunch time in the school, free meals were served to the students of particular class and the income of their parents. I was deprived this benefit since my father was a government servant and same was the case with few other students too and we carry our tiffin to school usually. That day after finishing the tiffin I was playing with other students; one boy came with an idea of testing the courage of co students. He challenged us to eat 2 rubber erasers big size and warned there will be a risk of life on doing it.
Being a monitor all students looked at me as if I was a superman who could take up the challenge and finish the task by eating rubber erasers. Few started taunting me saying he is a coward and will not take up the task. I thought about my super image as monitor is getting tarnished if I don’t take the challenge.
With out thinking much I grabbed both erasers from the boy and started eating it. With some difficulty and after taking few sips of water I ate those two rubbers fully. With a smile a stood as a winner and other boys and girls were staring with shock and few faces with appreciations. When bell rang for resuming the class after lunch, We wall went inside the class .
Few minutes later suddenly I felt an uneasiness and disturbance in stomach then I recalled the warning of the boy who challenged saying there is a risk of life . My all courage and strength vanished in a moment and I felt perspiration and shortness of breath. I was sure that the end moment is near and my chance of survival is very bleak. All of sudden I felt darkness all around and fell unconscious.
After few minutes I gained consciousness and saw teaches and students around me and with a smiling face my Achumama ( my father’s friend whom we call uncle), my angel. The smile itself gave me thin hope of reviving and Achumama came close affectionately hugged me. He understood the entire episode from the co students and realized what went wrong.
He took permission from class teacher to take me back home and accompanied me till home. While on the way back home,he appreciated my courage to accept the challenge, completing the task and then consoled me saying that it was just a panic attack and no one could die of eating rubber and maximum it can cause an upset stomach .He gave me the first lessons about mind and how a panic or disturbed mind can create havoc in one’s life.
I silently listened every word of my angel and realized how stupid I was .Only thing went wrong was recalling the boy’s warning about life and I kept thinking and visualizing about it and my panic mind invited all troubles. With a smile I thanked my angel and learned first lesson how strong the mind can be at the same time how fragile it can go…
